Amari
Amari, the hotel and resort group recently announced the appointment of Suresh Menon as executive vice president of Human Resources, corporate office. Prior to joining Amari, Menon was senior vice president of HR at Atlantis Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. He began his career as Head of the Training Department at Banque Nationale de Paris and in a career that spans more than 28 years, he has held various senior management positions in numerous international destinations.

In his new role, he will be responsible for building the total HR infrastructure for Amari to gear up for the expansion of the company as well as to align itself with the aim of being the employer of choice, focussing on talent management, learning and development initiatives and employee marketing.

Absolute Hotel Services
Jonathan Wigley, CEO of Absolute Hotel Services Co appoints Mark Heather as regional managing director for India based in the Mumbai office, effective February 1, 2010. Prior to his new assignment as regional managing director for India, Heather was hotel general manager of Eastin Hotel Makkasan Bangkok as well as group general manager overseeing hotel projects under the Eastin Hotels & Residences brand. His previous position before joining Absolute Hotel Services Mark was employed as general manager of Anantara Golden Triangle Resort. He successfully repositioned the resort as one of the leading award winning luxury resorts in Thailand.
KBJ Hotels
Abhishek Tatia has been appointed as GM (liaison & legal) for KBJ Hotels. His job profile will involve co-ordinating with consultants for project development and site officers for hotel constructions, interacting with banks for loan approvals and co-ordinating with government officers for licenses and NOCs. Tatia has done his MBA (marketing) from Chetana Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. Prior to joining KBJ Hotels, he was in Dubai for almost six years working in the telecommunications industry in companies including Cellworld Trading LLC as business development manager and cellucom as its branch manager.
KBJ Hotels has also appointed Jaishree Godhwani as the assistant manager for Human Resources. Her area of responsibility includes total set-up and structuring of KBJ Hotels corporate office and its subsidiaries of hospitality management sub-verticals. She will also be involved with all HR corporate policies and perks, appraisals, training and welfare activities.Prior to joining KBJ Hotels, Godhwani was working with Skystar Hospitality and VCI Hospitality as HR Professional.
Courtyard by Marriott, Chennai
Sandeep Sinha has been appointed executive housekeeper, Courtyard by Marriott, Chennai. Sinha has close to nine years of experience in the hospitality vocation, and has successfully worked with the most prestigious hospitality brands in India.
Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa
Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa has appointed Sumit Kumar as the director of F&B. Transferred from Grand Hyatt Muscat, he continues his commitment to the Hyatt chain. A graduate from Srinivas College of Hotel Management, Mangalore, he started his career as a food and beverage assistant with the Trident, Jaipur. He then went on to join five star properties like Amarvilas and the JW Marriott. Prior to joining Hyatt, Kumar was in The Chedi, Muscat as assistant restaurant manager and a member of the pre-opening team.
The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace
Rahul Upmanyu has joined The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace as revenue manager. Upmanyu has done his BA (Hons.) hospitality management, from IHM-Aurangabad. He began his career as management trainee at The Leela Palaces and Resorts. Prior to his current assignment he was with The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai as Assistant Revenue Manager with his key responsibilities towards hotels revenue, rev par as well as rev par premium. Apart from this his profile also involves managing rates, inventory on the PMS, GDS, Website as well as TPI's.
Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa
Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa's appointment of Bernhard Koll as executive chef, is poised to raise the resort's international culinary profile to even greater heights as a result of this talented master chef's esteemed royal catering background. From his role as a sous chef at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Elbow Beach, Bermuda, Koll was snapped up as an executive sous chef by the Oriental Hotel Bangkok, Thailand. Assuming the position of executive chef at Dara Samui Beach Resort & Spa Villa, Koh Samui, Thailand, Koll has since headed south along the Andaman's untouched tropical shores just south of Krabi, to take the helm of Anantara Si Kao's dining establishments.
