Oakwood
Worldwide, has announced appointments at the recently opened Oakwood Premier
Pune. Priya Nagrani has been appointed as director of sales and marketing,
Oakwood Premier Pune and Oakwood Residence Naylor Road Pune. Nagrani will
oversee and lead the sales and marketing teams at both properties. Her responsibilities
include conceptualising and executing sales and marketing strategies; develop
and action proactive sales initiatives to generate business for both the
properties; market research, communication strategy and its implementation
and media management, amongst others. She most recently served as associate
director of sales at the Hilton Office in Pune and has 18 years of senior
management experience. |
Sivakumar
Manavalan has been appointed as director of human resources for both
Oakwood Premier Pune and Oakwood Residence Naylor Road Pune. Manavalan brings
with him an experience of 19 years and will be responsible for all man power
management at Oakwood Premier Pune. |
Hinesh
Nensee has joined Oakwood Premier Pune and Oakwood Residence Naylor
Road Pune as executive assistant manager and will be assisting the GM in
managing the two properties. |
Vrushali
Kummar has been promoted as marketing communications manager for Oakwood
Premier Pune and Oakwood Residence Naylor Road Pune. Her profile as marketing
communications manager includes areas such as brand management, market research,
and communication strategy. |
Rakesh
Kumar has joined Oakwood Premier Pune as executive chef and brings with
him an experience of 22 years. Kumar started his career with Quality Inn,
Ooty, as a senior chef de partie in 1986. His last assignment was with the
Crowne Plaza, New Delhi as executive chef. |
Gaurav
Rege has been appointed as the front office manager and brings with
him an experience of seven years to Oakwood Premier Pune. His last assignment
was with Ananda in the Himalayas as department head - front office. |
| Saravan Kumaran has been appointed as executive
housekeeper for Oakwood Premier Pune. With an experience of 12 years, Kumaran's
last assignment was as executive housekeeper with Le Royal Meridien, Chennai.

Ahmed has been appointed chief engineer Oakwood Premier Pune and Oakwood
Residence Naylor Road Pune and will be heading the teams for all engineering
requirements. His last assignment was with Inox Leisure as senior manager
- projects. |
| HOME-LIKE HOTELS has appointed Dibyendu Mitra
as director of business development and operations based at the HLH office
in Noida. With over 15 years of experience in operations and sales in IT
and related industries, Dibyendu has worked extensively in the areas of
project management, global project delivery and managing teams.
Ravinder Singh takes over as director of
technology. Specialising in Central Reservations Systems (CRS) and Property
Management Systems (PMS), Singh has had wide exposure to technology systems
and providers in the hospitality industry. He will lead the technology
development of HLH working closely with a team of IT specialists based
in Delhi.

Taj
Hotels has announced the appointment of Sarabjeet Singh as director
operations for Taj GVK Hotels & Resorts and GM for Taj Krishna. He replaces
Veer Vijay Singh, who has been promoted as the COO - Premium Hotels in Mumbai.
Singh was previously GM in Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. Singh started
his career with Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces as a management trainee
and worked in Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai, in various positions
in the food & beverage department. |
Hyatt
Regency Mumbai has announced the appointment of Swarendra Sahay as
the hotel's director of food & beverage.
His role encompasses heading the F&B management
of the hotel's five outlets and ten banquet meeting rooms. With over a
decade in the hospitality industry, Sahay has previously worked with The
Leela, The Regent and the Taj Group of Hotels, before joining Hyatt Hotels
& Resorts five years ago.

sales and marketing division for JW Marriott Mumbai. His responsibilities
in his current position entail organising and directing all sales and marketing
efforts towards achievement of objectives and operational goals for the
property. |
| Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the appointment
of Christoph Mares as operations director, Europe, Middle East and
Africa. Mares first joined Mandarin in 2000, taking roles at a number of
hotels including properties in London, Paris and Munich, before taking up
a post of COO at Emaar Hospitality. His new role as operations director
will see him report directly into chief executive Edouard Ettedgui. |
| Amy McPherson, currently executive vice president
of global sales and marketing at Marriott International, will become president
and managing director of European lodging. She will be responsible for the
performance and growth of a new division that combines the United Kingdom,
Ireland and continental Europe. Since joining Marriott in 1986, Amy has
held a number of posts in the company including responsibilities in revenue
management, finance, business development and business transformation. |
| Best Western International has appointed Richard
Senior as group director of sales & marketing for Best Western Premier
Creek & Best Western Premier Dhow Palace Hotels in Dubai. Directly in
charge of sales, marketing, public relations, banquet sales, communications,
revenue and the reservation functions for both hotels with a combined 492
rooms. With over 17 years in the industry, Senior moved from his recent
position as director business development at the 4-star Novotel and Ibis
World Trade Centre Hotels in Dubai, where he looked after all aspects of
the two hotels' commercial operations. |
| Somyos Puddang has been appointed as resort
manager of X2 Kui Buri. In his position Puddang, will be responsible for
the entire resort operations of X2 Resort Kui Buri. |
| T Markland Blaiklock has been appointed as
the senior VP of Sofitel Asia Pacific. He will spearhead the operations
of almost 50 Sofitel branded hotels and resorts in operation or under development
in the Asia Pacific region, heading up support teams located in Bangkok,
Shanghai, and Sydney. Previously he was CEO of Grande Asset Hotels in Bangkok.

| Michel Molliet has been appointed as VP of
Sofitel Greater China. He will oversee 23 hotel properties currently either
in operation or under development in Greater China. Based in Shanghai, Molliet
and his support team are responsible for implementing brand development,
overseeing performance, and managing relations with hotel owners. Prior
to his move he was VP of operations at The Venetian Resort Hotel Macau.

| Paul McManus has been appointed president
of the Baglioni Hotels Advisory Board on development and strategic positioning.
In his new advisory role with Baglioni Hotels, McManus will work alongside
senior VP of sales and marketing, Luca Magni, on brand related issues and
with VP of operations, Guido Polito, on all business developments and acquisitions.
He is currently vice chairman of Leading Ventures, the business development
arm of The Leading Hotels of the World organisation. |
| Janis Cannon has been appointed as VP for
the InterContinental Hotels Group, global brand management, Hotel Indigo.
In this newly created role, Cannon will lead a global team responsible for
strategy, innovation, distribution, and rooms and revenue growth. She most
recently served as VP, brand management, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts
for the Americas region. Prior to joining IHG, Cannon served as the deputy
commissioner of tourism for the Georgia government. She has also held several
positions within Swissotel at the corporate level. |
