Om Group to expand its hotel portfolio
To open eight to 10 properties within the next five years

based Om Metals Infra Projects, which is present in the engineering, hospitality
and entertainment sectors, has announced its plans to expand its hospitality
domain. Speaking to Express Hospitality, GS Mehra, manager-sales and
marketing of the hospitality vertical of the company, said, "We have been
present in the hospitality sector since 2005, through our property Hotel Om
Tower in Jaipur. We have now taken a decision to establish a strong foothold
in the sector and set up properties in various locations in the country."
According to Mehra, Om Group plans to have a portfolio of ten properties within
the next five years. "We have recently completed land acquisitions in Delhi
and Jaipur," informed Mehra. In Karol Bagh, New Delhi, the company is setting
up a three-star property, which it plans to open before the Commonwealth Games
begin. "We have also acquired a plot of land in Jaipur, which will be based
on the mixed-use development model. We will develop a four-star hotel and a
Toyoto car agency on the plot of land."
The group is looking at having a presence in other cities also. "We are
negotiating with land owners in various cities and will announce the developments
in due course of time," mentioned Mehra. He added that the company would
operate all its upcoming properties under the 'Om' brand.
The company's existing property (Hotel Om Tower, Jaipur) opened in 2005. The
four-star property offers 56 keys (49 deluxe rooms and seven suites), and also
features a revolving restaurant (Om Revolving Restaurant).
