32nd Milestone to build 5-star hotel next to its entertainment zone

Plans to open two properties in Goa

Sanjeev Bhar - New Delhi

32nd Milestone, that has an entertainment zone of the same name in Gurgaon, plans to build a five-star deluxe category hotel next to it. Mamta Sharma, its executive director, reveals, "We are extensively refurbishing the fun, leisure and entertainment zone and expanding the facilities by getting a 200-room plus hotel constructed next to it. We are considering a management alliance with an international company."

The land recently received the pending licenses from authorities for commercial use. Sharma adds, "We want to develop the zone into a unique experience with the hotel as well as premium shopping experience along with the entertainment zone." The hotel is expected to start operations by end of 2010.

The company is also coming up with two properties in Goa in the coming six months. "One will be a four-bedroom villa called Home Away From Home and the other one will be a 27-room property with a rooftop SPA and multiple floors near Baga Beach." These expansions are taking place as units of 32nd Milestone Gurgaon, but Sharma said, "Should we feel that the hotels need to be done through a different brand name, we will think about establishing a hotel company."

32nd Milestone recently opened a boutique resort in Goa called 360° Beach Retreat, which is a 12-room property on the main Candolim Beach but it did not divulge any investment details.

The company also offers yacht vacations on its three-room yacht.
