Kolkata's IIAS School of Hospitality & Tourism Management has entered into a collaboration with Edinburgh's Telford College (ETC) and will henceforth be an 'Approved Learning Partner for Hospitality Management of ETC' in India.

Set up in 1990, IIAS has its presence in Siliguri, Goa, Bhilai and Dehradun. Besides the Hospitality & Tourism Management School, the IIAS group also operates IIAS School of Business & Informatics. Julia Weeden, international manager at ETC and Abhijit De, chairman, IIAS Group of Institutions, were present at the launch of the course.

The students opting for the IIAS-ETC collaborative programme will have a total duration of two years for the diploma programme, of which the first year will be in India and the other at the ETC International campus. Those students interested to opt for the degree programme will be given appropriate scope and opportunity by ETC under its relevant rules and guidelines for admission into the degree programme at its accredited university. The students will also have the opportunity for getting remunerative assignments on part-time basis to meet their educational expenses as well as their boarding, food and personal expenses.
