After the launch of his first restaurant in Mumbai - Jasmine
Moon, Santosh Kulkarni is now looking at expanding the brand within the city
and eventually to other parts of the country. The plans revolve around opening
a new outlet in Mumbai Central and Andheri in Mumbai, as well as opening outlets
in other tier II cities like Pune and Hyderabad.
Kulkarni was a part of the team behind the original Jasmine Moon restaurants
in Dubai that are known for take-away Chinese food and were developed by the
Bin Dasmal group. Here in Mumbai, Kulkarni has evolved the restaurant concept
to offer a sit-down dining option as well as takeaways. Talking to Express Hospitality,
he said, "I always wanted to come back to India, and after the popularity
of Jasmine Moon amongst Indians in Dubai, it was a natural decision for me to
take." The restaurant also offers catering services.
The Jasmine Moon initiative has been undertaken by The Big Apple Restaurant
Company which is promoted by Kulkarni, Ali Abbas Abdi and Kayvanna Shah. They
also aim to look at other F&B options in the future.
