Aramark steps into India

Aramark Corporation, a US based company that provides professional
services, including facilities management and food services, has acquired Indian
facilities management company, The Patman Group. Together they will be known
Aramark Patman Services with operations in 20 cities in which the The Patman
Group is currently present and will focus on establishing a pan-India footprint.
With Aramark's entry into India, the company hopes to fill a niche in a marketplace
which is largely dominated by an unorganised players, informed Ravi Saligram,
president, international and executive vice president, Aramark. Aramark Patman
Services will provide facilities management solutions for housekeeping, maintenance
security, pest control, and front office support and horticulture specialty
services. They will also provide F&B services for special events, industrial
catering as well as laundry services. Apart from the existing corporate portfolios,
the company will make its presence felt in the country by targeting guesthouses.
It also has plans of managing healthcare and educational institutes in the near
future. The company sees US$ 100 million business coming from all the developing
countries taken together. Presently Aramark operates in 19 countries including
Japan, UK and Canada.
