VCI Hospitality to invest Rs 60 crore

VCI Hospitality, which offers sales and marketing solutions to hospitality,
travel and tourism industries and also manages premium properties, is set to
expand aggressively in the hospitality sector. "We will be investing an
amount to the tune of Rs 60 crore (as sales and marketing expenses) over the
next two to three years to increase our sales and marketing hospitality portfolio,
and also plan to take the tally of rooms that we manage from 1400 to 6000 over
the next couple of years," said Vijay K Singh, chairman and managing director,
VCI Hospitality.
The group currently provides services to premium properties like Sahara Star,
Mumbai, Aamby valley city, Le Méridien Kathmandu, Gokarna forest golf
resort and spa, The Ffort Radisson, Kolkata and Golden palms hotel and spa,
Bangalore. It has also signed a contract for the upcoming premium property Golden
waters. It is expected to sign agreements next month to manage a 150-room property
in Hyderabad and a 120-room property in Goa. Besides these properties, the group
also has similar agreements with clubs like The woodrose club, Bangalore, Club
nirvana, Golden palms vacation club and Club cabana, Jalandhar. The group also
manages and markets Banon resort in Manali, which it owns on equity basis.
| VCI hospitality has launched a new hospitality brand,
'Indus hotels and spa'. The first property on the radar is in Jalandhar
(Punjab), which is expected to be opened in April this year. The group has
an equity stake in the property and will also manage and market the property.
"We are looking at other emerging cities like Ludhiana, Amritsar and
Kumarakom to extend the presence of 'Indus hotels and spa' brand beyond
Jalandhar," said Singh. |
