Royal Palms to take its rooms tally to 4000

Dinkar Farwaha - Mumbai

Real estate and hospitality company Royal Palms has announced its plans to open 4,000 rooms in the commercial township that it is developing in Mumbai. In an exclusive interview with Express Hospitality, Hugh Campbell, general manager, Palms Hotel, said, "We will open 4,000 rooms in the township over a period of time, which will cater to all the kind of travellers."

The group which is setting up an integrated sports-cum-lifestyle residential and commercial township that is spread across 240 acres in Goregaon, Mumbai, already has a presence in the premium segment. It presently owns two premium properties in the township, a 233-room Park Plaza Royal Palms and a 116-room Villa luxury hotel, Palms Hotel. It plans to add a third property to its kitty, a 423-room luxury hotel, Imperial Palace, which is expected to be opened before the end of the year. It is also developing another 300-room five-star property, which is expected to be operational by the end of next year.

In the mid-market segment, the group is developing a 400-room, three-star hotel, which it plans to open before the end of next year. "We are looking at foraying into the economy segment, too, to cater to the travellers looking for quality rooms at wallet-friendly rates," informed Campbell.
