Hotels has appointed Lawrence Lee as vice president - HR. As part
of his new appointment, he will also be a member of Carlson Hotels Worldwide
- Asia Pacific's executive committee.
Lawrence comes with 18 years of experience in the
hospitality industry and has extensive experience in human resource development
and management at both a strategic and global level
HVS
HVS Executive Search has promoted Trevor Belton
to vice president, from his previous position as director - research and
marketing. Trevor will continue to market HVS Executive Search while specialising
in retained executive search and compensation consulting for the lodging
industry.
Armed with a BSc degree from Cornell University's
School of Hotel Administration, Belton has previously interned with several
hospitality companies including Union Square Hospitality Group, The Ambrose
Hotel in Santa Monica California and MGM Mirage in Las Vegas
Suntec Singapore
Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition
Centre has appointed Pieter Idenburg as its new CEO.
Idenburg joined Suntec Singapore in 2005 as its
senior director of business operations. His contributions earned him the
position of chief operating officer (COO) in early 2007 with enhanced
responsibilities. His tenure at Suntec Singapore also saw him helming
landmark projects such as the building enhancement and the complex Suntec
Singapore venue operations for the recent IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings
in 2006
Amadeus
Amadeus has appointed Jean de Durfort as head
(Distribution) of the hotel. The appointment is part of Amadeus' global
expansion of its hotel technology business.
As part of his new role, Durfort will be responsible
for promoting and delivering Amadeus distribution products and services
to hotels around the world, and working with travel agencies to boost
Amadeus hotel bookings.
Prior to this appointment, Durfort held a variety
of sales and marketing positions at American Express, the last being that
of director - multinational sales
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group
To support the group's significant growth in the
region, Mandarin Oriental has announced the following appointments which
will be effective from May 1, 2008.
Richard Baker will be appointed executive
vice president - northern region, and will be responsible for the group's
hotels in the Northeast, the West Coast and the Midwest United States.
Richard joined the group in May 2006 as general manager - corporate, and
has been responsible for providing operational input to the group's hotels
under development in The Americas.
Jorge Gonzalez will be appointed executive
vice president - southern region, which covers the hotels on the Southeast
Coast of the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South
America. Jorge will also maintain his position as general manager of Mandarin
Oriental, Miami, which he has held since joining the group in July 1999.
He previously held senior management roles at Loews Hotels, Ritz Carlton
and Hyatt.
Mandarin Oriental has also announced the appointment
of Rudy Tauscher as area vice president - New York, Boston and
Chicago. In his new role Rudy will oversee operations at each hotel under
development in Boston and Chicago and will continue in his existing role
as general manager of Mandarin Oriental, New York.
Terry Stinson, who joined the group in April
1998 as development director, will assume the title of development director
and president - The Americas. Terry will continue to oversee the group's
global development and technical services departments and will work closely
with the Group's external partners on the continued development and execution
of new Mandarin Oriental projects around the world. In his enhanced role,
Terry will be the group's most senior representative in The Americas,
providing strategic advice to the region's leadership team
Jumeirah, Dubai
Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury international hospitality
management group and a member of Dubai Holding, has appointed Kevin Coleman
as vice president - market strategy.
Prior to this appointment, Coleman served as vice
president - Market Strategy for the InterContinental Hotels group, based
in Atlanta, Georgia, and before that he was with Accor. Kevin holds a
BBA in marketing from Texas A&M University in the USA

Astudo Hotel & Resort Management has appointed
Martin Fabiano as resort manager of the X2 Kui Buri and Le Bayburi
De Pran.
Martin, a Canadian national has been working in
key positions for several leading hotel chains for years. Before joining
Astudo Hotel & Resort Management, he worked at Rome Marriott Park
Hotel, Hilton International Hotel Canada, Four Seasons Hotel Milan and
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Philippines

Frank Grassmann has been appointed as hotel
manager of Dusit Thani Manila.
Grassmann has almost 20 years of professional experience
in various international postings. Prior to his arrival in Manila, Grassmann
served at notable Dusit properties in Thailand: The Dusit Thani, Bangkok
and The Dusit Laguna Resort, Phuket. He has also held posts at an InterContinental
property in the Middle East, a Sheraton property in Mexico, the Steigenberger
Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt, Germany and the world-renowned Savoy Hotel
in London, England

as executive assistant manager, Simon McHendry as director of sales
and Mabel Chan as director of marketing.
With more than 20 years experience in the hotel
industry, Cadman, an Australian national, has worked for well-known international
hotel chains including Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton and Accor in the USA, Australia
and Jamaica. In his new capacity, Miles-Cadman will be responsible for
overall rooms operation of the hotel.
A British national, McHendry has more than 10 years
experience in front office operations and sales. McHendry joined the Langham
Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong in 2004 as assistant front office manager, then
was promoted to front office manager and later, director of sales - corporate.
Graduated from the prestigious Hong Kong Polytechnic
University, Ms Mabel Chan has more than 14 years experience in marketing,
communications and public relations. Chan has worked for a number of hotels
in Hong Kong, namely, Regal Kowloon Hotel, The Kowloon Hotel, The Langham
Hong Kong and Regal Airport Hotel
