EH Staff - Mumbai

Finewinesnmore have once again proven their status as credible and qualitative players in the Luxury Spirits market, with Forrest Estate (New Zealand) from the FWM portfolio being adjudged the winner of the Top Red Wine category of the recently held Indian Wine Challenge.

Finewinesnmore, one of the country's leading marketers and distributors of luxury wines and spirits, with an exclusive portfolio of 140 labels from countries around the world recently participated in the Indian Wine Challenge with 13 labels, all of which won awards in their respective categories. With Forrest Estate Pinot Noir from New Zealand winning in the Best Red Wine category, the other 12 labels from the FWM portfolio won three gold medals, eight silver medals and two bronze medals.

With the growing popularity of wine in the country, wine makers and importers are realising the importance of educating consumers to increase awareness about wine. Keeping that in mind, India's wine challenge was a key platform for quality wines to make their presence felt. The Indian Wine Challenge was organised by IFE-India (International Food Drink & Hospitality Exhibition) in association with Robert Joseph, editor-at-large of Wine-Business International.

With the aim of the event being to determine the best wines available in India, the panel of judges included prominent names in the industry like Robert Joseph, Subhash Arora, Abhay Kewadkar, Sourish Bhattacharyya, Alok Chandra, Bill Marchetti and the head sommelier of Imperial Hotel, Stephane Soret, known to be one of the most credible sommelier's in India.
