Jaypee Hotels
Taran Deep has recently joined Jaypee Hotels as head (Marketing & Communications). In her capacity, she will be in charge of four Jaypee properties (Jaypee Vasant Continental, Jaypee Siddharth, Jaypee Palace Agra and Jaypee Residency Manor Mussoorie). With over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Taran Deep has previously worked with The Park, New Delhi, Nirula's, and Pizza Corner. She was also responsible for the launch of Pulse Restaurants (domestic and overseas) - a Poddar Group venture and Papa John's, the world's third largest pizza chain in India
Sunil Tandon has recently been appointed as additional GM (Sales) for Jaypee Hotels. Having around 15 years of varied experience in the field of hospitality, Tandon has previously been associated with Intercontinental Hotels, Hyatt and Hilton. In his present capacity, Tandon will be handling sales the chain's regional offices
Taj Land's End, Mumbai
Taj Land's End has appointed Anirudhya Lal Roy as executive chef. Roy, brings with him over 16 years of varied technical and management experience in F&B, having spearheaded the launch of several fine dining restaurants in the various hotels he has worked with.

Prior to this appointment, Roy was the executive chef at the Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, part of the Taj group of hotels, besides other prime properties of the Taj group

The Claridges Hotels & Resorts
Sanjeev Shukla has joined The Claridges Hotels & Resorts as general manager (sales & marketing). After completing a degree in Hospitality Management, Shukla started his career with the InterContinental Hotel in Sydney from where he moved to The Oberoi Hotels & Resorts. Prior to this appointment, he was director (international sales) for The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts.

In his new role, Shukla will spearhead the sales and marketing for all the group properties, besides directing the communications and positioning of the hotels

Travelocity
Travelocity has expanded its hotel-team in India, and across Asia Pacific following the record success of the Travelocity Preferred Hotels program in India, and across the Asia Pacific region. These are some of the new appointments.

Abdul Thingna has been appointed regional manager for the Indian sub-continent. Prior to this appointment, Abdul was a consultant for major hospitality solutions with Infosys and just before that he was revenue management director for the Taj Group in Bangalore.

Aditi Sud and Amel Joe join as new market managers for Northern and Southern India respectively. Both come from a hospitality background, with Aditi having worked with the Taj Group in Bangalore and Amel with Leela Hotels in Mumbai.

Yograj Kulkarni has joined as the new market co-ordinator.

Grant Colquhoun has been appointed director of hotels for Asia Pacific. He will be supported by two new regional managers plus a larger team of market managers and market coordinators based throughout the region.

Stephane Thong and Lewis Lew have joined as market managers, both based in Singapore. Prior to this appointment, Stephane was with AirAsia, while Lewis was with Wotif.com.

Isabel Mah has been appointed market coordinator.

Alex Nieuwenhuys has been appointed regional manager. Having been a part of the Travelocity hotel team since its inception in Asia Pacific more than three years ago, her proven skills as a networker, negotiator and thinker has gained her a promotion from market coordinator to regional manager. Lauren Gainey joins the market manager team in Australia.

Atsushi Nazao has been appointed as new market manager for Japan. Prior to this appointment, Atsushi led an operations team within JTB Business Travel Solutions for several years following his stint with the Westin Hotel in Tokyo.

Jaime Wong has joined as the new Greater China market coordinator. Helen Lee has been appointed market manager, Korea. Prior to this, she was a hotel sales agent.

Jinny Sun Woo has been promoted to manager, Hotel Outbound Sales, Korea

Ty Warner Hotels and Resorts
Ty Warner Hotels and Resorts recently appointed Andrew Firestone as director of memberships. As a first assignment, Firestone will be responsible for rolling out an exclusive membership program at Ty Warner's Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club and Montecito Country Club in Santa Barbara, California.

Armed with a degree in Business Administration, Firestone went on to work in Institutional Finance in San Francisco, later returning to the region to work for his family business, Firestone Vineyards, before joining Ty Warner

Swissotel Grand, Shanghai
Swissotel Grand, Shanghai is scheduled to open in early 2008 and has made five key management appointments.

Roslyn Chan was appointed director of revenue and marketing. A Malaysian national, Chan has more than 17 years of previous sales and marketing experience in China's major cities including Beijing, Xi'an, Changchun and Shanghai.

Wessel Krauss is the executive assistant manager in charge of rooms for the hotel. Prior to joining the Swissotel Grand, Shanghai, he was the executive assistant manger with Sofitel Jin Jiang Oriental Pudong Shanghai.

Christopher Peach, having acquired a wealth of hospitality experience over the past two decades, is the newly appointed director of food and beverage and culinary operations. Prior to this assignment, Peach was executive chef of Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey.

John Zhu has been appointed the hotel's financial controller. Zhu, a native Chinese from Shanghai, was formerly with the Radisson New World Hotel in Shanghai.

Ann Kau, form Singapore is the hotel's human resource director. Prior to joining the Swissotel Grand, Shanghai, Kau was with the Jin Jiang International Hotel Management, Shanghai, as human resource project director
