Grand Temple View Khajuraho wins `Best New Spa' award
Rejuve
- the Spa at The Grand Temple View Khajuraho - won the award for the `Best New
Spa' at the Penovia Botanica Asia Spa Award 2007. The award was presented in
a ceremony held in Mumbai on September 14, 2007. Rejuve is spread over two floors
with an area of approximately 6000 square feet, offering seven fully-equipped
treatment rooms with attached steam, sauna and cold-shower, trained and experienced
therapists, a modern techno gym; customised yoga sessions and a range of therapies,
special massages and treatments.
2008 Arabian Hotel Investment Conference to cover Indian
market also
The fourth Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) is set to beat all previous
attendance records with 1,000+ delegates expected in Dubai next year between
May 3-5, 2008. AHIC attracts investors, developers, operators, financiers, consultants,
architects and design specialists from the hospitality industry.
The agenda for the 2008 conference will cover topics such as the environment
and sustainability, pipeline dynamics, new destinations, staffing, fractional
ownership and design issues. In addition, the conference will host a special
half-day summit on India for the first time. The event is being organised in
Dubai by The Bench and MEED.
Taj becomes first trans fat-free hotel chain in India
Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces has become the first hotel chain in India to
announce the elimination of trans fat from all its F&B offerings, across
its hotels. A type of unsaturated fat with transisomer fatty acids, Trans fats
are injurious to health and will no longer be used for cooking purposes in any
Taj Hotel, including it's restaurants and in-room dining.
Hydrogenated oils (like margarine and Indian Vanaspati Dalda) that can withstand
high heat, longer, trans fat is the worst form of fat that is full of artery-clogging
substances that elevate the risk of coronary heart diseases.
Stephen Bollenbach to receive AH&LA hospitality heritage
award
Stephen Bollenbach, chairman and CEO of Hilton Hotels Corporation, will be honoured
with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Hospitality Heritage
Award at the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation (AH&LEF)
Dinner Tribute on November 13 at the New York Hilton in New York City. Proceeds
from the dinner benefit the research and scholarship efforts of AH&LEF,
the non-profit affiliate of AH&LA.
Since Bollenbach became co-chairman and CEO of Hilton Hotels Corporation, the
Hilton family of hotels has grown to include more than 2,800 hotels in 80 countries,
making it one of the largest hotel companies in the world. Bollenbach oversaw
the acquisition of Bally Entertainment, which made Hilton the world's largest
gaming company, a venture that was subsequently spun off to form Park Place
Entertainment. He is a director of the Hilton Hotels Corporation. At the end
of 2007, Bollenbach is stepping down as CEO of Hilton Hotels, but will serve
as co-chairman of the board through 2010, and continue to provide consultation
services till 2012.
Aura wins Most Innovative Spa Award at AsiaSpa Awards 2007
Aura at The Park, Chennai has bagged the top award for 'Most Innovative Spa
of the Year' and has been voted as among the '50 most exotic spas of the World'
at the AsiaSpa Indian Awards 2007. In its third year, the AsiaSpa Awards recognise
and benchmark the best spas in the region as well as around the world, and also
put the spotlight on Asia's best spas.
