Jumeirah,
Dubai has appointed
Doris Greif as general manager of Jumeirah HanTang Xintiandi, a new
hotel developed in the Luwan district of Shanghai, scheduled to open in
the summer 2008.
Prior to this, Greif was with the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai, where
she held the position of general manager since 2004. Greif has been part
of the Jumeirah group for the last nine years, working in Jumeirah Beach
Club Resort & Spa, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Group's Corporate Offices. |
Kendall Oei
has been appointed as the new president and managing director of Group RCI,
Asia Pacific.
Oei will be responsible for leading a team of 440 employees in nine countries
and managing relationships with 350 affiliated resorts.
Prior to this appointment, Oei served as executive director at General Hotel
Management. Throughout his career, he has held various management
positions in hotel development and commercial and investment banking in
Asia and the US. |
Langham
Hotels International has appointed Steven Fam as director (sales)
for the recently opened sales office in Singapore. Fam will oversee the
sales initiatives and operations of the new office. He is also responsible
for tapping new sources of business in the Singapore market for LHI's portfolio,
focusing on managing preferred Travel Management Company relationships and
handling the corporate and MICE segments.
With over 17 years of experience in the hotel industry Fam has held senior
sales positions in various luxury hotels in South East Asia. |
InterContinental Hotels
Group has appointed Simon Morley as the resident manager of the Al
Bustan Palace InterContinental Muscat, Oman.
Prior to this, Morley was the
executive assistant manager at the Grand InterContinental Seoul, Korea.
With an experience of 15 years, he has been with the InterContinental Hotels
Group since 2001. He has also won the General Managers Award in 2000.

| Ashwin Malik,
has been promoted and named as chief executive of Whyte & Mackay. He
has been with the UB Group for 19 years and will relocate to Glasgow, Scotland
to manage the company

Shekhar Ramamurthy,
who has been with the UB Group for 18 years, has been promoted to the position
of deputy president of United Breweries and in his new role, will look after
operations in addition to overseeing sales and marketing. |
| Ashok Capoor, has been promoted
and will move to Bangalore as deputy president of United Spirits. He has
been with the UB Group for 15 years and has successfully led the Western
Regional Profit Centre as part of his current assignment. In his new role,
he will be in-charge of all five Regional Profit Centres as well as the
CSD business of the Group. |
A Harish Bhat, who has been with the UB Group
for 17 years, has been promoted to the position of deputy president and
group treasurer. He played a key role in and successfully managed the
recent large acquisitions and investments of the UB Group.

| PA Murali, who has been with the
UB Group for 14 years, has been promoted to the position of deputy president
(finance & administration) of United Spirits. He has successfully managed
the merger of various group companies into United Spirits and he has admirably
executed the recent acquisitions of Whyte & Mackay and Liquidity Inc.

PS Gill, currently
with United National Breweries, South Africa, has been with the UB Group
for 15 years. He now moves to New Delhi as chief operations officer of the
Northern Regional Profit Centre, United Spirits.

chief operating officer of the Andhra Pradesh Regional Profit Centre and
who moved from Shaw Wallace, now moves to Mumbai as chief operating officer
of the Western Regional Profit Centre of United Spirits. |
K Laxmi Narasimhan, currently
divisional vice president and head (sales operations) in the Southern Region
has been promoted as acting chief operating officer of the United Spirits
Andhra Pradesh Regional Profit Centre in Hyderabad. |

Joseph A Machado
has joined Golden Tulip Southern Asia as its director (operations).
Machado brings with him an
experience with leading Indian and international hospitality brands within
the country and abroad. He has been involved in launching new projects and
overseeing hotel operations at unit as well as corporate levels. |
Nitin
Gupta has taken over as general manager, Golden Tulip Jaipur. He is
a hotel graduate from the University of New Orleans and experienced in hotel
openings and renovations. Prior to this Gupta has worked with reputed hospitality
chains in the US such as Sonesta and Hyatt. |

Swissôtel Hotels &
Resorts has promoted Aiden McAuley as its regional vice president (Asia
Pacific). This is in addition to his role as general manager of Swissôtel
The Stamford, Singapore.
As the regional vice president (Asia Pacific), McAuley will be overseeing
the group's current properties in Singapore, Thailand and Australia, focusing
on the co-ordination and supervision of hotel operations as well as working
closely with the respective general managers in these countries on strategic
and financial issues. At corporate level, he will be liaising with relevant
corporate departments on matters pertaining to current and future operations
whilst developing the appropriate network to support the brands expansion
within the region.
McAuley's career with Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts began in the
United Kingdom in 2000 where he was general manager of Swissôtel The
Howard, London. He relocated to Singapore in 2005 where he assumed the position
of general manager of Swissôtel The Stamford, Singapore. |
