Vacation ownership (timeshare) introduced as a subject in Institute of Hotel Management

All India Resort Development Association (AIRDA) has introduced vacation ownership
(timeshare) as a subject as part of the syllabus of the Institute of Hotel Management,
on advice of the National Council of Hotel Management & Catering Technology,
Ministry of Tourism.
N S Bhuie, director for Studies, NCHM says "The National Council has done
extensive research and held detailed discussions with AIRDA and its members
to evolve course material which will be relevant to the Indian industry and
also provide successful candidates with better job opportunities."
According to B S Rathor, chairman, AIRDA "Vacation ownership (timeshare)
is one of the fastest growing segments of the hospitality industry and will
require skilled and trained personnel. Introduction of the subject in the syllabus
of the IHM is very timely and appropriate."
"Vacation ownership industry in India has been growing at a CAGR of 20
per cent over the last few years and is a great driver of domestic leisure tourism
in the country," he adds.
AIRDA is the national representative of the vacation ownership
(timeshare) industry in India and works towards disciplined expansion of the
industry by self-regulating business conduct and building credibility and image
through education and communication.
