Kamat Hotels launches four-star luxury brand VITS

Plans to develop 20 properties in the next five years

Dinkar Farwaha - Mumbai

Undergoing major brand development, Kamat Hotels (India) has launched a new four-star luxury brand of hotels. In an exclusive interview with Express Hospitality, Param Kannampilly, its technical director, said, "VITS would be a four-star full-service luxury brand and will cater to business travellers." According to him, the brand was designed in consultation with brand guru Jagdeep Kapoor.

"We are eyeing at opening 20 VITS properties in the next four to five years," he added. In the pipeline are the upcoming eight Lotus Suite properties in Belgaum, Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur, Baddi, Raipur, Amboli and Aronde that will now be developed as an upgrade brand VITS. The already existing Mumbai Lotus Suite will also be upgraded and added in the umbrella of VITS soon. Moreover, the group is looking for fresh acquisitions to mark the presence of VITS in other regions as well. It will announce the developments in due course of time.

The launch of VITS marks the group's foray into the four-star luxury segment. It is already present in the five-star and four-star segment with its brand The Orchid and Lotus Suite, respectively. The Lotus Suite brand has undergone a makeover and will now be segmented as a resort brand under the name Lotus. This would result in the group's already existing property Lotus Suite in Goa being rebranded as a resort brand under the name Lotus. All the upcoming Lotus properties will be set up in waterfront locations, according to Kannampilly. Moreover, the heritage properties of the group have been branded as Gadh.
