FHRAI 43rd Convention

Of synergies and partnerships

EH Staff - Kolkata

The Indian business atmosphere is truly supercharged, whether it's banking, retail, telecom, manufacturing or real estate. India is the buzzword with FIIs pumping huge sums and betting high on India Inc. Riding high on these positive events is also the Indian hospitality industry. It is experiencing stupendous growth with established players on an expansion spree and new entrants vying for a piece of the market. Although growth is largely been talked about in the northern, western and southern regions, the east is not far behind with a plethora of hotel companies announcing new projects recently and the various state tourism boards of this region also vigorously promoting themselves.

FHRAI encourages growth

Appreciating this phenomenon, the FHRAI (Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India), has decided to host its 43rd FHRAI Annual Convention and tradeshow this year in the bustling city of Kolkata with a view to encourage development here. The event is being held from October 26 to 28, 2007 at ITC Hotel Sonar - undoubtedly one of Kolkata's most luxurious five-star deluxe hotel properties.

The theme of the convention this year is 'Hospitality and Government - Creating Prosperity Together', that indicates the need of the hospitality industry and the government to work in unison. Spread over three days, it will be attended not only by FHRAI members from across India but will also witness attendance from high-profile industry professionals from the eastern region.

On display

Express Hospitality, India's most trusted hotels and restaurants publication, a partner to the event, is organising a tradeshow alongside the convention. It will bring its expertise of successfully organising elaborate exhibition series (like its very own HospitalityWorld) for putting together this smaller format focused tradeshow. It will have handpicked exhibitors displaying some of the latest products and services. The objective is to create an exclusive, resourceful and exciting platform for both the exhibitors and the audience to conduct business and exchange ideas.
