Resorts recently made the following appointments. Yim Choongs Hing has been appointed senior vice president, regional
operations, Meritus Hotels & Resorts. This follows his recent appointment
as vice president, F&B of Meritus Hotels & Resorts in April 2007.With
his extensive experience and diversified capacities, Yim, a dynamic hotelier,
will strategise and implement the hotels' operational strategies to coincide
with the brand strategy of Meritus Hotels & Resorts as part of his new
position

Chung has joined Meritus Hotels & Resorts as vice president, HR.
Prior to her recent stint with Valuair, Joan has had extensive experience
in the field of human resource in various industries including hotels, general
insurance, and land transportation since 1985

has appointed Ng Sok Hia as director, sales & marketing.
Armed with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Singapore,
Sok Hia started her career in 1987 as a sales manager and rose steadily
through the ranks at Marriot Singapore and The Oriental. She was most recently
in the employ of Swissotel, the Stamford, occupying the post of director
of sales and marketing

Kunzmann has been appointed executive assistant manager of the Amari
Vogue Resort, Krabi. After graduating from the Swiss Hotel Management School
in Australia, Kunzmann, of Swiss-Singaporean origin, worked for over 10
years in operations at various five-star hotels around the world like the
Hyatt, Sheraton and other properties in Switzerland, Australia and Canada

B Mertens has joined the Swiss-based international hotel group, Mövenpick
Hotels & Resorts, as senior vice president, development & facility
management. A dual citizen of Germany and South Africa, Namibian-born Mertens
is a Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate of the University of Denver,
USA. Following graduation, he held a number of senior leadership and consultancy
roles in Asia-Pacific with Ernst & Young, Horwath Asia Pacific, Holiday
Inn and in the Middle East as director of development and strategy for Qatar

Jena has been appointed area general manager of Royal Orchid Hotels,
Pune. A Commerce graduate from Hyderabad he also has a Diploma in Hotel
Management from IHM Bhubaneswar. In a career spanning 19 years, he has held
various positions at reputed hotel chains like The Taj Group, Holiday Inn,
The Orchid - Ecotel Group of hotels, Carin Hotels and Concept Hospitality.
Prior to this appointment he was general manager of a leading Pune hotel

Jose has been appointed director of sales for Novotel Hyderabad. In
his new role, Tejus will be responsible for designing and driving the sales
strategies for the hotel and boosting its top line. Tejus joined Novotel
Hyderabad as the associate director of sales in January 2006 and was part
of the pre-opening team of the Accor group's first ever properties in the
country viz. Hyderabad International Convention Centre and Novotel Hyderabad

Grand New Delhi. Shukla has been shouldering the responsibility as resident
manager of the hotel since 2005. With over 20 years of work experience within

Atul Lall has
been appointed chief operating officer of the International Division at
Berggruen Hotels. Prior to this, Atul was the general manager of The Claridges,
New Delhi. Atul brings with him 19 years of experience in England, Scotland,
Ireland, Singapore, Maldives and India with various hotel chains including
Gleneagles, Taj Hotels, Oberoi Hotels and Claridges. He has been involved
in the start-up of two world renowned hotels - The Wildflower Hall, Mashobra
and The Taj Exotica Hotel and Spa, Maldives

Group Asia Pacific has appointed Gary Rosen as senior vice president,
sales and marketing, Eve Weatherburn as director of brand management
for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, and Ken Wong as regional
director of sales and marketing for Greater China.
In his new role at IHG, Gary will lead the company's
brands, marketing, sales and communications teams in Asia Pacific to strengthen
IHG's brands and drive hotel performance
In her new role, Eve will be responsible for enhancing
the market position of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, IHG's luxury
hotel brand, which has 147 hotels worldwide, including 34 hotels in the
Asia Pacific region
With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry,
including 15 years in sales and marketing and seven years in China, Ken
Wong, prior to joining IHG, was director of sales and marketing, Marriott
International, for the company's Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels in Beijing.
Ken will employ the group's sales and marketing resources to drive revenue
and increase hotel performance for IHG
