Toronto college, IHM Mumbai jointly introduce Chef Training Programme

The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition,
Mumbai and George Brown Chef School, George Brown College, Toronto - two of
the world's premiere hospitality and culinary schools, have jointly announced
the introduction of the Chef Training Programme.
Starting January 2008, students will be trained to be professional chefs in
two major cities, Mumbai and Toronto, with industry partners at their doorstep.
While receiving the most up-to-date programming, students can take advantage
of both institutions linkages, as well as work study programs with some of the
industry's leading chefs in the finest hotels and restaurants.
The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition,
Mumbai, the first of its kind in South Asia was founded in the year 1954 by
the All India Women's Central Food Council, under the leadership of the late
Lilavati Munshi. It is now one of India's most renowned hospitality schools
with links to industry at the local, national and international level, while
George Brown Chef School is the largest culinary school in Canada and boasts
state of the art cooking labs, modern classrooms, and library and study services.
Internationally recognised as a leader in the professional cooking scene, George
Brown Chef School has been voted one of the Top Ten Culinary Schools in North
America.
A free information seminar about the programme will be presented by Joy McKinnon,
vice president, International and Applied Research, GBU, Toronto on October
19 at the Institute of Hotel Management, Dadar, Mumbai.
