Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Gurgaon
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has entered into a management contract with HB
Estate Developers to come up with 200-room business hotel. The hotel is located
in Sector 44 of Gurgaon, Delhi-NCR region and is expected to be fully functional
by 2010.
The hotel aims at offering the business traveller all his
business needs with business facilities and services. The rooms will be spacious
with inimitable service and high technology. The hotel will also have a large
banqueting and meeting space equipped with conferencing facilities, together
with a spa and a swimming pool. The Taj will also lend its expertise in the
food and beverages arena, with three restaurants and a bar.

Kanatal Resorts & Spa is setting up a hill top retreat
- Rasayana Resort & Spa at Kanatal - a hamlet in the Tehri district of Uttarakhand.
The resort which will be completed by October this year overlooks the serene
valley, and is flanked by majestic hills covered with dense pine forests. The
resort will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and furnished with
all the modern luxuries, beautifully landscaped gardens and apple orchards.
The resort, a four star property, has been built at a cost of Rs 10 crore, funded
entirely through internal accruals. After the completion of this resort, the
group will also be setting up a 400 room business hotel in Dehradun.
Oakwood Asia Pacific serviced apartments
The world's largest provider of serviced apartments, Oakwood Asia Pacific, a
division of Oakwood Worldwide, has launched its first Indian property in Pune
and plans to sign up with local partners to open seven more properties in the
country over the next 2 years. The company, which opened its first property
in China recently, joins the long list of global companies, including Marriott
International Inc, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc and Ascott group,
that are inking deals with Indian real estate developers to tap the increasing
need for long-stay apartments across the country. "India and China are
two of the most important markets for the group in the Asia-Pacific region,
as both these countries see a continuous influx of global visitors from multinationals
which are seeking to either set up businesses there or expand existing operations,"
said Frank Foster, vice-president, marketing and sales, Oakwood Asia Pacific.
