Six
Senses Spas has teamed up with Thai property developer, Erawan Group, to create
a premier destination spa named Six Senses Erawan - A Destination Spa. It is
to be located on the island of Naka Yai on the north side of Phuket.
Multi-day programmes, created under the executive direction of destination spa
veteran - Ana Maria Da Costa Tavares, former general manager of Chiva Som for
more than six years. Six Senses Erawan will feature four unique spa concepts
under one roof, focusing on Chinese, Indian, Indonesian, and Thai inspired treatments.
The spa layout, which covers 3,000 square meters, or 2,80,000 square feet, has
been guided by feng shui and the four life elements of fire, water, air, and
earth. Chinese treatments include Jin Shin Jyutsu, Chi Neit Tsang, and traditional
medicine.
The Indian Pavilion is to offer colonic therapy, energy healing, and other ayurvedic
treatments, and will incorporate refreshing herbal steam rooms. A Thai Massage
School provides guests the opportunity to learn the traditional art. The Indonesian
section will feature outdoor water therapy treatments amidst waterfalls, outdoor
showers and bath tubs. It also features a watsu pool in an outdoor jungle setting.
Guests will be encouraged to wear comfortable Six Senses-designed clothing during
their stay to foster a relaxed environment.
An in-depth selection of diagnostic tools will be offered, such as iridology
and which will provide invaluable insight into the health of each guest. Supporting
the spa, Six Senses Erawan will offer a total of 68 Pool Villas and Pool Villa
Suites, each with an overall personal space footprint of more than 450 square
meters, or 4,845 square feet. The spa cuisine will combine local seafood with
organically grown produce and incorporating traditional herbs and spices to
reflect the Asian locale.
