New kids on the block

The Aryans Restaurant & Bar, Malad

The new Aryans Restaurant & Bar serves authentic Indian menu. The restaurant is divided into three sections - the outside area with ambient lighting also features a waterfall, the inside section is air-conditioned and the first floor restobar serves cocktails. It is located at Kamla Nagar, Chincholi Bunder Road, opposite Mindspace.


Pulse, Mumbai

Pulse Foods India has forayed into the commercial capital of India by opening two restaurants in Mumbai at Prabhadevi and Mulund. The Pulse at Prabhadevi is located at Veer Sawarkar Marg, and has 60 covers spread over 2,000 sq feet. The second Pulse is at Nirmal Lifestyle Mall in Mulund (W) where it has 70 covers spread over a 2,000 sq feet area. The décor at pulse has been developed keeping in mind a brand personality that is modern, vibrant and approachable. The mix of wood panels and logs at the service counter add a special dimension to each restaurant. The bright yellow glazed flooring, comfortable yet plush yellow sofas and tan chairs contrasted by purple walls with food shots.


Grand Trunk Road, Kolkata

Grand Trunk Road (GTR), a premium standalone restaurant was launched by the Kolkata based Savourites group. The centrally located restaurant on KH Road derives its theme from the 16th century historical highway built by Sher Shah Surry which ultimately extended from Kolkata to Peshawar. Cuisines include delicacies from across Bengal, Bihar, UP, Punjab, Pakistan to Afghanistan. In addition, GTR has a 'food path', a small cozy lounge where guests can relax over starters and their choice from a well-stocked bar.


Leela's clifftop Club, Kovalam

The Leela Kovalam Beach in Kerala has launched India's only clifftop Club overlooking the Arabian Sea. The Club at the Leela Kovalam, developed with an investment of Rs 30 crore, has architecture that reflects minimalistic design. It offers 49 Club rooms, six Executive Suites and one Deluxe Suite. The Club also features an array of dining restaurants.


Fortune Select Palms, Chennai

Fortune Park Hotels, the mid-price subsidiary of ITC, has opening its 19th property at Chennai. Owned by Vikram Aggarwal of VVT Hotels, Fortune Select Palms is located in the IT hub, on the Old Mahabalipuram Road. The hotel plans to offer 129 spacious rooms under various categories - Standard Rooms, Fortune Club Rooms and Suites. Wi-fi connectivity and a data port are special features. The hotel is part of Fortune's 'Select' category of hotels and is being marketed as the preferred choice for the discerning traveller. There are seven banquet halls with modern conferencing facilities and a well-equipped business centre and is located 17 km from the airport and 14 km from the railway station.
