Young Achievers
Tarun Bhatia, general manager and executive chef at
Spice Tree Restaurant in Bandra Mumbai, has been awarded the 'Young Restaurant
Manager 2005-2006' by FHRAI during its 42nd convention held in Chandigarh.
He has a total experience of 13 years of which two have been in the current
position. In the past, he has been associated with establishments like Hotel
Holiday Inn, Mumbai, and has also served as Chef de Partie at the Luxury Passenger
Liner, Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) in Southampton, UK. Currently, Bhatia is also
a guest lecturer at Colleges of Hotel Management in Mumbai. In the past few
years, he has done two assignments of food styling and presentations for students
of Sophia College, Mumbai for their Annual Advertising Competitions. As regards
financial milestones, the revenue of the restaurant has crossed a whopping Rs
2,33,12,063 as on July 31, 2006 under Bhatia's guidance.

Anuraag Bhatnagar, general manager of Le Meridien Jaipur,
was recently awarded the 'Young Achiever' in the hospitality industry at ITB
Berlin 2006. Anuraag received this award from Pacific Area Travel Writers Association
(PATWA) which recognises and rewards professionals from various travel and hospitality
fields. Bhatnagar has been instrumental in the successful launch and positioning
of Le Meridien Jaipur, a 96-room and 20 villas property on the Delhi-Jaipur
Highway. He has over 18 years of experience in the hospitality trade and has
been with Meridien hotels for around seven years.
