FHRAI to form revenue earning divisions
Will offer consultancy and placement services
Sanjeev Bhar - New Delhi
In order to strengthen the organisation with more financial inflow, the Federation
of Hotel & Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI) plans to form two subsidiary
divisions, which will offer consultancy on hotel operations and placement services
for the industry.
Speaking exclusively to Express Hospitality, Kamal Sharma, its secretary
general, reveals that the federation is now ready to take on the mantel of offering
knowledge back to the industry in the form of consultancy services and become
a platform for identifying placement opportunities for students as well as professionals.
"FHRAI possesses a huge talent pool through its large industry participation
and we are going to use that for the betterment of the industry by offering
professional expertise. At the same time, FHRAI will also act as a forum for
placement opportunities which will be useful for existing professionals apart
from fresh management graduates."
The new subsidiary divisions are Sharma's brainchild, which has received unanimous
approval at the federations recently concluded annual convention held
last month in Chandigarh. "We are just formalising the necessary steps
towards the formation of the divisions and also looking forward to a tie-up
with a foreign consultancy firm," Sharma adds. The divisions will be funded
through internal accruals and are expected to begin operations early next year.
The consultancy division will address all areas of hotels from F&B, operations,
engineering, sales and marketing, etc. The federation will be proactive by making
its website more interactive and offering a forum for property opportunities
that will help hotel buyers/sellers to interact on a single platform.
