What's happening in Mumbai’s hotels? A peek into the party circuit and events in the city...

Fine revival

Shatbhi Basu and Sucheta Goenka at the launch of Fine Dine

Revival, the popular pure vegetarian restaurant at Chowpatty, went in for a drastic revival, departing from its Indian food and now offering global cuisine, and that too non-vegetarian fare. Of course, this meant a change of name, it's now called Fine Dine and its upstairs banquet section has been converted into Quay lounge. Hosts Kamlesh Barot and Sucheta Goenka welcomed guests on opening night, while Karen Anand presented her signature menu of Indian, Oriental and Mediterranean cuisine with items like smoked salmon, chicken liver pate, seafood paella, Mediterranean crostini platter, smoked honey mustard ham, tandoori platter and Zeba Kohli tempted guests with her chocolate creations. Meanwhile, the lounge mixologist Shatbhi Basu and her Stir team made sure the guests were in high spirits. Guests who came for dinner, and drinks, were Bakul Patel, Meera and Nirmal Zaveri, Samrat and Shalini Zaveri, Vanita Bhandari, Sunil Padwal, Kahini Arte Merchant, Azeem Khan and wife Sameena, Arzan and Khushnuma Khambatta, Bina Aziz, Sangita Sinh Kathiwada, Maheka and Amrit Mirpuri, AD and Sabina Singh.

Razzle-dazzle

This was a fundraiser for the Kishori Project - Urban Health Centre, Mumbai, in association with Young FICCI Ladies Organisation and Yes Bank. Hosted by Deepali Goenka, convenor, FICCI, YFLO and Rana Kapoor, MD and CEO, Yes Bank, it was a night of art, music, fashion, food and drink. After the cocktail hour with Chivas Regal, Cobra beer, etc. along with a traveling art exhibition displaying works by Redappa Naidu, it was time for the fashion show, choreographed by Sharmilla Khanna, with Maybelline girl Deepika Padukone and other leading models like Aditi Govitrikar, Carol Gracias, Vidisha Pavate, Fleur Xavier, Gauhar Khan, Mugdha Godse, and Tupur Chatterjee, accompanied by some mesmerising music by Parthiv Goel. Hop and shop

Sangeeta Bijlani and Mohammed Azharuddin at the Olive night market

It looked like an upmarket Anjuna flea market scenario at Olive as the Mediterranean style eatery and bar presented its night market. Hot stuff with cool price tags - that's what was in store for party people. The pebbled courtyard area looked colourful with stalls offering jewellery by Tanuja Dod, Malaga by Malini Aggarwal, Kan by Neomy Khautau, bags by Shaan S Khanna, jewellery by Sangeeta Khanna, Couch Potato by Namrata Shroff, Dir69 by Tanu Bagai, Aftershock, You by Renu Bothra, Jewel Art, Zeba by Krsna Mehta, jewellery by Shaheen Abbas, Horn OK Please by Sabina Singh, Contemporary Arts & Crafts.
