Chokhi Dhani plans investment of Rs 200 cr

Chokhi
Dhani, the ethnic five-star village resort in Jaipur, is planning to augment
its presence in India with an investment of Rs 200 crore in 2007-08. After opening
Chokhi Dhani in Pune and Indore recently, the group intends to carry the same
concept to Udaipur and Jodhpur by next year through the management route. However
it will will take the franchise route for opening Chokhi Dhani in Panchkula
(Haryana), Mumbai, Nagpur, Agra and Goa.
"Chokhi Dhani has been received well by Indians and foreign travellers.
By venturing into other cities we plan to increase the popularity of the brand
and with the tourism industry on a high, the theme will attract a lot of tourists.
Our main target audience are the domestic tourists," says Subhash Vaswani,
MD, Chokhi Dhani Resorts.
The group also intends to diversify into boutique hotels in Indore and Pune
under the same brand. It will be a mid-market hotel catering to the in-city
movements and corporates. Chokhi Dhani, which is also into the amusement industry
since 1997 will be adding a boutique hotel in the Pink Pearl Fun City in Jaipur,
with five-star facilities.
