NCHMCT signs MoU with French business school
The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT),
the apex body for education and training in Hotel Management and Catering Technology
in India has entered into a strategic academic partnership with the VATEL International
Business School of France. Rajiv Talwar, CEO of the Council and Alain Sebban,
president of the VATEL International Business School, France, signed a MoU to
this effect.
According to the MoU, the Vatel group will provide annual scholarships equivalent
to the value of tuition fees to six deserving students of hotel management for
Vatel's Masters programme at Vatel, France. The MoU also provides for an annual
exchange programme of faculty where two professors from Vatel will come to India
for teaching language, while three Indian professors will visit Vatel to improve
their current skills, particularly in French gastronomy. There will be also
exchange of faculty for research purposes and conducting seminars in each others'
countries. The Vatel group will also organise a 6-month `Specialist Food and
Beverage Course' in France on request of the IHMs.
MoU, mentions that, the Indian Hotel Management students, who have completed
3rd year of their Bachelor degree in India can integrate into final year of
Vatel France's Master's degree program. It also provides for internship in France
for 12 Indian students in their 2nd year of the studies, every year.
The MoU will be valid for a term of 5 years and can be renewed further with
mutual agreement by both the parties.
