Hans Hotel to launch its first 5-star property

Praveen K Singh - New Delhi

Hans Hotel, formerly known as Hans Plaza, is all set to launch its maiden five-star property in Gurgaon by December 2007. Rita Shah, chief operating officer of the company speaking exclusive ly to Express Hospitality, explains "This will be company's first five-star property after two 4-star deluxe properties at New Delhi and Puri. It will be a 150-room hotel with two F&B outlets, three banquet halls, swimming pool, health centre and a business centre."

The property is constructed on a total area of two acres divided equally between the hotel building and landscaping and positioned right opposite the DLF Golf Course. According ABM Architects, a Mumbai based firm handling the architectural designs, 75 per cent of the rooms will overlook the golf course.

For structural construction, which is yet to be started, three companies are vying to acquire the contract; which includes Kashyap Builders, Ahluwalia Construction and Chawla Techno. The total project is valued at Rs 100 crore. The company is also hiring a project management company for quality control and checks and evaluations.

On being asked, if the company is looking for any foreign tie-ups, Shah asserted, "As we have successful management group, we don't intend to have any foreign tie-up. The new hotel will be managed by Hans Hotel itself."

The company is also refurbishing its New Delhi property and is adding 10 more clubrooms along with two new F&B outlets, named Kaffa and Caramelo.
