CCIL expands wings to Japan

Priya Krishnaswamy - Bangalore

Country Club India Ltd (CCIL) has expanded its portfolio by adding another franchisee-operated property in Japan. Norie Ohga, the franchisee based in Japan is set to run The Country Club Ohga Castle, in Tsurugaoka-Nob-eoka City, Miyazaki, Japan.

Talking to Express Hospitality, Siddharth Reddy, joint managing director, CCIL, said, "Our main objective initially was integrating communities and this is happening because of our international expansions. More projects in Dubai, South Africa and the United States are in the pipeline. We want to be recognised as a Country Club India catering to Indians living outside the country." The Ohga Castle, overlooking the Pacific Ocean is scheduled to be operational from September 2007.

Attaching a theme to all of its properties is one of the strong marketing strategies followed by CCIL. Reddy says, "It is not merely staying in any of the properties, it is the feeling attached to it. For instance Country Club Bush Betta would always be identified as a wildlife destination, the Sri Lankan property is tagged with river rafting, while the Country Club Kovalam would be a rejuvenation destination."
