Turning up the sound
Continuously striving to provide a better guest experience,
hoteliers are using cutting-edge sound and acoustics to their fullest advantage.
Ratish Pandey, head, Bose India speaks on the changing face of
technology in the hospitality industry
Worldwide hotel trends dictate an "in-room" experience with razor
sharp sound and quality acoustics, compelling hoteliers to optimise both sound
quality and delivery of content, and meeting this need gap is Bose Corporation
with complete sound solutions. Since its inception in 1964 in Massachusetts
Institute of Technology by Professor Dr. Amar G. Bose, the company followed
a clear mandate, establishing itself as an engineering company, with a commitment
to research- a fundamental precursor converting yesterday's fiction into tomorrow's
reality.
The philosophy has stood the test of time and today, Ratish Pandey, head, Bose
Corporation India, says, "We aim for excellence in everything we do. From
the way we run our business to our customer service. In everything we do, we
truly believe that "good enough" is merely a starting point."
The game plan
Sound is a critical element, and understanding the importance of a carefully
designed auditory experience is integral to the hospitality industry, he believes,
as it adds immeasurably to the image of quality and luxury . The company's division
for Professional System Solutions provides sound solutions for public spaces,
including hotels and restaurants. "From the moment they step into the hotel
lobby, everything your guests experience leaves a lasting impression. And every
distinction, however subtle, has the opportunity to set your hotel apart from
the competition. Your guests are accustomed to quality sound in their lives
and expect it wherever they go," he opines. The company has to its credit
many patented and proprietary technologies that is uses specifically for the
hospitality sector. "We provide software that models public spaces accurately,
correct acoustic signatures for various rooms, supply volume limiters on "in
room' sound solutions for guest rooms, all while keeping pace with the stringent
demands of this industry," informs Pandey.
Pandey believes
He feels the upswing in the Indian hospitality is outpacing the growth experienced
in emerging markets, though has yet to catch its counterparts in the Middle
East and South East Asian markets. This translates into pure potential for Bose,
with demand outstripping supply, and international chains making a foray into
the segment and seeking to equip their properties with state-of-the-art technology.
Explains, Pandey, " I believe that this is one of best times that Indian
hospitality is experiencing in many years. " He concludes by saying that
this boom will continue for a couple of years, with the room shortages slowly
reduced with the influx of investments in the mid-term, helping the exponential
growth.
