World fair iba back in Munich
EH STAFF - Mumbai
Around 1,000 bakers and confectioners from approximately 40
countries will exhibit their products and services for seven October days at
the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
iba 2006, to be held between October 3-9, 2006 in Munich after
six years, will welcome trade professionals and decision makers in baking and
confectionery businesses to a floor space of 1,30,000 square metres. The exhibition
will be held in 12 halls that will showcase products and services in the areas
of energy-saving ovens and accessories, baking and confectionery machinery,
refrigeration, fermentation and air conditioning technology, shopfittings, packaging
machinery and new developments in baking agents, ingredients, computer controls
and software.
The
organiser of iba, which takes place every three years is the German Baker's
Association, the Zentral verband des Deutschen Backershandwerks (ZVDB). The
operational management is in the hands of GHM Gesellschaft fur Handwerksmessen
mbH, a company specialising in organising trade fairs. This international trade
fair has been the key market place for the industry since 1949. Dusseldorf and
Munich alternatively serve as venues of iba. The post-event get together will
also take advantage of the Oktoberfest atmosphere.
The accompanying programme to this event will include baking
demonstrations from a range of countries and visits to Bavarian bakeries. The
Indo-German Chamber of Commerce had organised a presentation on iba 2006 in
Mumbai last May. The event gains more relevance with the industry trend towards
large-scale production sites and catering chains and the emergence of new sales
and franchising concepts such as coffee shops, bakery outlets in supermarkets
or discount bakeries. And iba 2006 will also give you an overview of logistics
and transportation services - including the latest generation of delivery and
sales vehicles. The latest developments in shop fittings and the best solutions
will also be presented.
The exhibition grounds are located to the east of Munich.
