M P Purushothaman Is New FHRAI President

The Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) has elected M P Purushothaman, chairman and managing Director of The Empee Hotels Ltd as their new president for the current year 2004-05. He takes over from Vivek Nair, managing director The Leela Kempinski. Prior to this Purushothaman was the vice-president of the organisation elected from the southern region. He had also been elected as the president of FHRAI during 2000-01, this being his second term.

As the president, his role would be to steer the industry body to greater heights and further the cause towards the achievement of the mission and vision of the FHRAI. He will also be the face and voice of the industry and will represent the issues and problems to the government to enable mutually beneficial decisions. The growth and development of the industry will be his prime focus.
