Children's Day Out

The Grand Hyatt encourages guests to enjoy a relaxed and fun-filled Sunday afternoon while they treat themselves to a sumptuous lunch at Grand Cafe. It is children's day out with a special Sunday kids' lunch offering children's favourites like smoothies, floats, shakes, candyfloss, live stations featuring pastas, burgers and a range of ice creams with toppings. On the charts are fun activities with balloon sculptors, face painters, storytellers and outdoor games.

Incidentally, Grand Cafe offers Indian and international cuisine in a casual and lively ambience, making the restaurant a versatile venue for both formal and informal all-day dining. The menu features authentic French cuisine with flavours of both classic and creative French cooking, as well as a selection of Indian specialities from around the country.

Mystical Morocco

It was all mystical and Moroccan at the rooftop of the Hilton Towers. It was the night of Mystic Morocco with veteran fashion designer Pallavi Jaikishan presenting her latest festive creation. An elegant lounge style ambience for the soiree was created along Moroccan lines with hookahs (or sheeshas), divans and bearers in Moroccan kurtas and fez caps. The spirits were flowing and soon it was fashion show time, choreographed by Lubna Adam with models like Fleur Xavier, Dipannita Sharma, Nethra Raghuraman, Dipti Gujral, Kavita Kharayat and Mridula Chandrashekhar on the ramp, or rather ambling across the floor and into your hearts. What you saw was a symphony, balancing tradition from Morocco and India with elements of the contemporary to compose a harmony in design. Loving every moment of the show were guests like Tanya and Arvind Dubash, Harsh Mariwala, Poonam Bhagat, Sabira and Chotu Merchant, Sarita Garware, Madhu Nair, Avanti and Yash Birla.

Orra Aura

The aura of Orra came alive at Indigo with the launch of Orra, part of the Rosyblue Group, the world's largest diamond manufacturing company, headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium. They say that one in every 25 diamonds is a Rosyblue diamond. And now it is time for Orra in India with 20 stores spread across 15 cities.

Orra, it is said, can be summed up as a legacy that has spanned centuries and overwhelmed the world with its brilliance. A word that epitomizes the person it was created for - her spirit, her grace and the invisible glow that surrounds her. Orra Blue highlights a woman's depth without ignoring her serenity. Launched in India are Orra rings, pendants, bangles, chains, necklaces, earlets, sets, typical Indian items like mangalsutras and nose pins and even an exclusive range of men's jewellery.

The X Factor

On the art scene it was time for the first Mumbai show of Chennai-based artist Julius Macwan. The Hermit. That was the name of the show at the Museum Gallery, with the preview attracting the likes of Sharan Apparao of Apparao Galleries, Harsh Goenka, artists Bose Krishnamachari and Sudarshan Shetty, actor Atul Agnihotri and wife Alvira, designers Abu and Sandeep Khosla and singer Sunita Rao. The energy of 'life, mortality, sex and death' have been prortrayed in Macwan's work that has a sense of power and style.

Every painting is like an energy soure. The works area dense coming together of solid colour, the body and complex context of visual imagery amidst which they stand. His vertical, horizontal and diagonals have developed into the X and the cross. His works include portraits of the Bachchans, Shah Rukh Khan and stills from Bollywood movies.
