Motimahal Plans Rs 16 Crore Expansion
Hotel Motimahal, Mangalore, one of the oldest prime properties in South West
Karnataka, will be expanding its presence to more areas in the state at an investment
of Rs 16 crore.
Informing this to Express Hotelier & Caterer, Ashok Kapoor, general manager,
Hotel Motimahal, said, "The group has recently opened its 18 room property
'Hotel Motimahal Puttur' in Puttur, constructed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore.
The property is located in a prime area covering five acres. It is being positioned
as a transit hotel as there is a regular frequency of tourists and businessmen
between Mangalore, Coorg and Mysore."
Meanwhile, the group is putting together its plans to construct a premier 40
acre beach property in Northern Karnataka and is negotiating with the state
government for necessary clearances.
"The tourism potential lies untapped in the Northern Karnataka regions
especially in the beach city of Karwar. We are planning to construct a 40 room
beach resort in Karwar and the entire project is likely to cost us around Rs
15-20 crore. As of now we are in advanced talks to buy land and get necessary
clearances from the state government. This property is likely to take shape
soon and is targeted at attracting more corporate and leisure customers,"
Kapoor said.
