Picnicking With Wine

EH&C Staff, Mumbai

With a distinct rise in restaurant goers appreciating ‘Wine’ and sales climbing to a substantial level, food and beverage departments are working on new innovative methods to promote their wine stock and compete for share of growing wine consumer pie.

Trying to carve a niche with its marketing endeavour while offering its clients an ambience to unwind, the Olive Bar & Kitchen in Mumbai has introduced a new wine promotion 'Sunday Wine Picnic'.

Commenting on the new food and beverage promotion, A D Singh, partner, Olive Bar & Kitchen, " Most people look forward to spending their weekend with their families. And in most cases the weekend outing is a picnic. If we could offer our customers an option to picnic with the family and visit our restaurant, it would certainly be a win-win situation. Thus, the idea of a ‘Sunday Wine Picnic.’"

In ensuring that its promotion is a success, the management has endeavoured to create an ambience of a countryside picnic, with jazz music, wine and sumptuous buffet spread.

Speaking on pegging the promotion on 'Wine', A D Singh, elucidated, " Wine is most appreciated in leisure. And with the promotion emphasising leisure and relaxation, what better product to highlight in the promotion."
