Serving Made Easy

Anindita Chattoapdhyay, New Delhi

Venus Industries has recently launched its moveable hot snacks serving trolley to enable servings at banquets smooth and easy. Made of 18/8 non-magnetic stainless steel, it has water proof wooden shelves complete with imported side handles, six rectangular pans for snacks, two bowls for dips and a napkin holder. The trolley has best quality bearing wheel with brakes for smooth navigation and charcoal tray underneath pans.

Said VM Vij, "We are the first to manufacture such a product. The ones available in the market use electricity for heating and are fixed at one point. The USP of our product is that charcoal or LPG is used for heating - thus making it convenient for taking around. For a banquet of 300-400 guests, four or five trolleys are adequate."

When asked if LPG is a safe proposition he swiftly replies with, "It is absolutely safe as we use small five kg cylinders. Any way, the LPG heating provision is an alternative to charcoal trays."

Venus is currently selling the product to stand-alone banquets only, though they plan to target hotels and industrial canteens as well. "We are testing the product now with smaller banquet halls. Depending on the feedback we receive we will incorporate changes . If the product performs satisfactorily we will move into catering to hotel industry from September this year," informed Vij.

Priced at Rs 22,000, the product has received a good response so far. While the company sells it directly in Delhi, it has appointed dealers in other major metros to handle distribution and sales. q
