Comfort Suites To Launch In India
The Indian hospitality accommodation segment will witness the entry of yet another international brand, this time in the serviced apartment segment. Choice Hotels India Ltd’s (CHIL) Comfort Suites is all set to establish its presence in India sometime during June 2004.

Country Club, Royal Resorts Enter Strategic Alliance
Country Club India Limited (CCIL) have entered into a strategic alliance with Royal Resorts, the leading holiday ownership company in Asia with 14 luxury resorts spread over Goa in India, Lombok in Indonesia, Chiang Mai, Phuket in Thailand and Gold Coast in Australia, to form a holiday club called Royal Country Vacations International Holiday Club (RCVIHC).

Bharat Hotels Eyeing Overseas Acquisition
Lalit Suri-promoted Bharat Hotels is looking at spreading its wings overseas by acquiring a hotel in London. It has also chalked out a Rs 500-crore expansion and renovation plan under which it plans to set up hotels in Surat and Bekal (Kerala) this year.

Outlook Improves For European Hotel Industry
European hotel room revenues rose 10 per cent in March, according to data from the HotelBenchmark Survey by Deloitte, which reveals that revenue per available room (revPAR) for hotels in Europe reached 67 Euros, up six Euros on last year.

Leisure group Whitbread is to sell a string of three-star hotels in a bid to focus on its budget and luxury chains, it announced recently.

Four Seasons Records 1st Qtr Net Earnings Of US$11.5 Million
Four Seasons Hotels Inc reported its results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2004 and posted net earnings of US$11.5 million (US$0.33 basic earnings per share and US$0.31 diluted earnings per share), as compared to a net loss of US$9.3 million (US$0.27 basic and diluted loss per share) for the first quarter of 2003.
