Shevaroys Conducts Mega Food Carnival

The students of the Shevaroys College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Yercaud, Salem District, conducted a mega food carnival - Global Delight 2003 - to showcase the talent and skills of the young students.

The annual event was focused on the food and culture of the four major continents - America, Africa, Asia and Europe. According to D Rajeson Prakasam, principal and secretary, the reason for choosing the theme is that food plays a pioneering role in breaking barriers, whether it is regional, religious or geographic. The students displayed about 300 dishes from all the four continents.

A grand lunch, Dakshin, was also organised as part of the food carnival. It depicted the rich and great south Indian culture and dishes from all the four southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh were served. The theme buffet lunch was spread over 2000 feet in length and it was an feast for the eyes. More than 2,500 guests and eminent hospitality professional graced the occasion.
